Dangerous Love by Momodou Sawaneh is based on long-lived African traditions. You learn very well about arranged marriages and African lore in this story. It is based around Mary who is balking a traditional marriage and likes the “western ways” instead of the traditions. I was left with a suspicious feeling that this author has left open a situation that would make a wonderful sequel which I would greatly look forward to should Mr. Sawaneh decide to write on. I would be derelict in my duties if I didn’t recommend this novel to those that love a romantic story with murder and mayhem intertwined within it.
